CitizenResident offers Basic and Premium Pensionado Visa Coordination Packages for retirees and lifetime pension income recipients who want a clearer, more organized path to Panama residency, with optional support for translations, banking, airport arrival, local setup and cédula coordination.
Panama’s Pensionado Visa is one of the country’s best-known residency options for retirees, pensioners and lifetime income recipients who want to establish long-term residence in Panama. The process may appear simple at first, but in practice it often involves several moving parts: pension evidence, foreign documents, apostilles or consular legalizations, authorized translations, family documents, travel planning, professional partner coordination and post-approval steps.
CitizenResident created two Pensionado Visa Coordination Packages to help clients choose the level of support that fits their needs.
The Basic Package is designed for clients who want focused coordination around the essential residency process.
The Premium Package is designed for clients who want a more complete experience, adding support for translations, bank account coordination, airport VIP pass, airport-to-city transportation, local SIM card assistance and cédula coordination.
Regulated steps, including eligibility review, immigration filing and representation before authorities, are handled by independent licensed professionals under their own responsibility.

The Pensionado Visa process is not only about submitting a file. It starts much earlier, with the correct organization of pension evidence and documents issued abroad.
Panama’s National Immigration Service states that the Pensionado category applies to foreigners who receive a retirement income or pension from a foreign government, international organization or private company, with a monthly pension of at least B/.1,000.00 granted for life. It also lists documents such as power of attorney, photographs, passport copy, criminal background certificate, health certificate, sworn personal background form and pension certification.
If dependents are included, the official requirement sheet refers to additional solvency of B/.250.00 per month per dependent, which may be justified through additional pension income or a local bank reference. It also recognizes special situations such as private pensions, combined spousal income, reduced pension amount when the applicant owns qualifying property in Panama, dependent children and the indefinite nature of the permit.
This is why proper sequencing matters. Documents may need to be obtained abroad, apostilled or legalized, translated, reviewed, organized and submitted through the responsible professional. A small error in timing or document preparation may create delays.
Depending on the selected package, CitizenResident may help coordinate:
intake and project organization;
document checklist and deadline control;
pension evidence organization;
communication with independent professional partners;
apostille, legalization and translation workflow;
dependent document organization;
banking coordination, when included;
travel and arrival coordination, when included;
post-approval cédula coordination, when included;
practical follow-up and pending-item tracking.
1. Package selection
The client chooses between Basic and Premium depending on the level of support needed.
2. Pension and profile review
The relevant professional reviews whether the pension source, family composition and document situation are compatible with the intended application.
3. Document organization
CitizenResident helps organize the checklist, timing, missing items and communication flow.
4. Apostille, legalization and translation
Documents issued abroad may need proper authentication, apostille or consular legalization before they are used in Panama. The Embassy of Panama states that foreign documents must be authenticated before being submitted to the attorney in Panama and that applications must be submitted in Panama through a lawyer.
5. Filing workflow coordination
Once the file is ready, the independent professional handles the filing before the competent authority. CitizenResident helps coordinate the workflow and communication.
6. Processing follow-up
CitizenResident helps track pending items and practical next steps while the application is under review.
7. Post-approval steps
Depending on the package, CitizenResident may help coordinate resident card, cédula and settlement-related steps after approval.
Choose the Basic Package if you want a focused coordination service for the core Pensionado Visa process and prefer to manage translations, banking, airport arrival, transportation, SIM card and cédula steps separately.
Choose the Premium Package if you want a more complete experience that combines the essential Pensionado process with practical relocation support.
CitizenResident helps coordinate the project workflow, document flow, provider communication and client follow-up. Immigration advice, eligibility analysis, filings, legal opinions and representation before authorities are handled by independent licensed professionals. Government decisions, processing times, document acceptance and bank approvals are outside CitizenResident’s control.
